All About Hydraulic Check Valves

Hydraulic check valves would be the most widely used valves that allow fluid to flow in one direction in a hydraulic system and protect against reversal of liquid flow. That is the reason why the name the “check valve”. In other words, this device is installed at a pipe so that the water does not flow backward in the pipe. There is a mechanism inside the pipe which moves based on the stream of the water towards the valve, and if demanded, the mechanism plugs up the valve opening therefore there is no flow of water backward.

In a hydraulic test valve, there are two openings. The inlet whereby the hydraulic fluid enters and an outlet by which the fluid goes out. The best thing is that they operate mechanically. They work in relation with stainless steel pumps, motors and cylinders.

There are various designs available in hydraulic valves like ball, plunger, swinging disk, along with poppet. Based on the application form area, the size and shape varies. These check valves have been used in industrial applications that require hydraulic pumps, including in automotive braking systems, vehicles, construction components, including city sewage and water systems. They’re found in systems where a backup of fluid can cause issues on a large scale.

Hydraulic valves are employed for various reasons such as follows:

The critical role they play is they prevent flooding if there is extreme back flow of water running through the plumbing.
They avoid the damage of their machine from water flowing the wrong direction.
Once the machine KP-LOK is switched off, then the valve can help in avoiding the fluid from flowing back in the incorrect direction. Inturn, they also save power and protect the pipes from water damage.
They restrain fluid pressure.
